I'm here to save your ass, not kiss it...

In my line of work I see all kinds of people, mainly high profile business and entertainment types who need to get from point A to point B quickly and quietly. 99.999% of them are absolutely great. I have a few of them that I would go to extreme efforts for if they asked. They are just that nice and pleasant to be around.

Then there is the other 0.001%. These are people who seriously need a tow truck to remove their head from their ass. I swear, if it rained, these people would drown and complain about the quality of water they were drowning in.

Farewell my friend...

Last Thursday one of my coworkers, whom I considered a good friend, went out with several members of the department he worked in to have a farewell party, as Friday was his last day of work. He was quitting his job to relocate to Texas with his son who lived here with him to be close to his other son already in Texas.

By all accounts it was a good time and everyone was happy. People left and he stayed behind to continue relaxing. It was getting late in the evening. What happened next is a bit unclear but Greg was found out front of the location with a major head wound and other injuries. Initial speculation was that he had been beaten and robbed.

Fortunately he was still wearing his company shirt so authorities eventually were able to contact his family and then us. Doctors worked valiantly to save him performing operations to relieve the pressure in his brain and stop the bleeding.

Props to the State of Nevada and the ACLU

It is interesting how people can have a love-hate relationship with the ACLU. I admit to disagreeing with their stance on some issues but I respect them for standing up for the rights of all Americans, no matter the background.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Unfortunately many Americans have ceded the majority of their freedoms to an ever increasing and complex government, expecting that "someone else can take care of me". Whatever happened to the idea that the government was "of the people, by the people" and that serving in the government was a high honor and that the government would do all it can to protect its citizens and this nation? Where those who served in the Congress paid their own way instead of drawing a salary.

Now we see articles about corruption in government, how politicians continually vote themselves pay raises when the certainly don't deserve it (generally late at night so we or the media don't notice), where the US Government turns on its own border guards (the 2 poor SOBs in Texas that got railroaded on bogus shite, while the scumbag drug running illegal alien was given complete immunity and medical care, at tax payer expense!!!), and countless other examples, including a personal hot button of mine - the trampling of religious freedoms of "non-majority" religions, in particular "pagan" ones by the Government under the influence of the so-called “Religious Right”. What makes it even more repugnant to me is when it effects those who serve in the US Military and those who gave their lives so I can sit here and rant today.
